Privacy policy

This page describes what Julien Passet's Garmin watch faces send when they report anonymous usage statistics. It was last updated on 25 September 2026.

Who

Julien Passet is the controller for these reports. Contact: passetempsjulien@gmail.com. This policy covers every Garmin Connect IQ watch face published by Julien Passet that reports usage statistics.

What is collected

While a face is the one you are using, it sends at most one report per day:

• the app and its version
• the watch model part number, firmware version, and Connect IQ version
• the system language
• a device identifier created by Garmin for this app. It is hashed with a secret key on arrival and the original value is not stored
• the date the face was in use, and a marker the first time it runs after install
• the country, derived by Cloudflare from the connection. The IP address itself is not stored

What is not collected

No location or GPS, no time zone, no health or sensor data, no name, no email address, no Garmin account, and nothing you type. Permissions a face uses to draw itself, such as heart rate, steps, or sunrise and sunset, stay on the watch. They are not included in the report.

Why

The reports are counted up so I can see how many watches use a face, which models and languages are common, and which versions are still in use. That decides which devices to keep supporting. There is no advertising, no profile of you, and no sale or sharing of the data.

Legal basis

Legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR: measuring the audience of a watch face I publish, limited to the fields above. You can object by email or by uninstalling the face.

Where the data is stored

Cloudflare processes each report and stores the database in the European Union, in my own Cloudflare account. Cloudflare acts as processor under its data processing terms. The request itself is handled at the Cloudflare location nearest the phone.

How long it is kept

Individual daily reports are deleted after 90 days. The record of a watch is deleted 13 months after its last report. Combined statistics that contain no device identifier are kept.

Your choices

Reports are sent only while the face is the one you are using. Uninstall it, or switch to another face, and collection stops.

For a question or a deletion request, email passetempsjulien@gmail.com. The only device identifier held is a hash that cannot be linked back to you, so a single watch's rows cannot be looked up from an email address. Rows are deleted automatically 13 months after the last report. Every email gets a reply.
